College/Department Overview Under general direction of the Manager of Media Services, the Coordinator of Multimedia Services provides team leadership for centralized, enterprise-level multimedia service delivery. Coordinates multimedia services (including setup, production and post production) for meetings, conferences, training sessions, and campus events. Ensures the area's technological level remains up to date, defines standards, and implements new procedures and techniques Supervises student employees and provides functional direction to staff. Establishes team goals and objectives. Effectively collaborates across technology teams and business units through excellent communication skills, diplomacy and a positive attitude. Position Overview Provide technical audio-visual, multi-media, and video support services for meetings, conferences, training sessions, and campus events. Set up, troubleshoot, and maintain multimedia equipment such as video projectors, monitors, audio systems, video cameras, DVDs, VCRs, and videoconferencing equipment. Ensure proper connectivity and function of equipment, networks, and computers within the audio-visual system. Department Specific Essential Job Functions Coordinates multimedia services (including setup, production and post production) for meetings, conferences, training sessions, and campus events. Provides application administration and user support of the University's streaming and multimedia content systems, video conferencing, web conferencing, integrated applications, event services. Develops, edits and produces technology-rich media content for courses, web, learning programs, etc. Works in a flexible arena, collaborating with the Office of Information Technology (OIT) personnel to support UCO departments, faculty, staff and students who use multimedia technologies. Creates, manages and administers streaming content, multimedia content, webcasts, lecture capture, video conferences and web conferences including set-up and troubleshooting for various academic and non-academic groups. Serves as the campus consultant for live events using AV multimedia technology to enhance the user experience. Implement and maintain AV conference and event standards. Document all aspects of University events and develop user reports. Designs, plans, and produces events while managing all project delivery elements within time limits. Proposes ideas to improve provided services and event quality. Provides application administration including enrolling and managing users and university group administrators, managing settings within the multimedia systems, password management, short and long term records management, backup and archive content. Monitors and reports usage statistics. Creates and maintains configuration documentation and workflow processes. Implements a process for review and updating documentation. Supervises a team of students. Coordinates daily multimedia services operations, provides Tier III technical expertise and resolves problems escalated to the coordinator level. Serves as team lead under the direction of the manager. Develops work plans, goals and objectives in relation to staff activities to ensure service delivery and alignment with OIT priorities. Monitors, analyzes and reports on the progress of service delivery; takes a customer-centric approach to problem solving; solicits customer feedback to improve service; and responds to customer needs. Collaborates with Technology Resource Center technology trainers to deliver scheduled and just-in-time multimedia content training opportunities including the creation of online training modules and orientations for students, faculty and staff. Assesses, identifies and recommends innovative solutions that provide continuous improvement in the organization. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications/Experience Required Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of equivalent combination of experience and education. Minimum of four years' experience in administration of streaming, multimedia content management, and/or web conferencing applications and systems. Qualifications/Experience Preferred Preferred: Specialization in design, computer science, media arts, instructional technology, radio and television broadcasting or other related field. Experience in a higher education environment. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Must possess strong customer service and interpersonal skills. Strong analytical, organizational, and collaboration skills. The successful candidate will possess excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to facilitate team interaction and client meetings effectively. Ability to explain technical terms in everyday language. Ability to work independently or with specialized group and maintain courteous attitude in dealing with students, faculty, and staff. Ability and willingness to complete several concurrent tasks in a fast-paced, detail-oriented, multi-tasking environment. Ability to effectively communicate including reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English to a wide range of needs and audiences. Continually updates skills and knowledge relative to the position and the technology industry. Adheres to and complies with UCO's shared values and the Office of Information Technology's Code of Ethics. This position is on-call 24x7x365 and requires the successful candidate to have high-speed internet access to their residence, and maintain a smart phone on which to receive telephone calls, email, SMS messages from servers and authorized OIT personnel. Physical Demands Repetitive movement of hands and fingers - typing and/or writing. Frequent standing, and/or sitting. Occasional walking, stooping, kneeling or crouching. Reach with hands and arms. Visually identify, observe and assess. Ability to communicate with supervisor/students/colleagues. Regular physical attendance required.
