Supervisor: Assistant Head and/or Head CustodianJob Objective:
Clean and maintain all buildings and grounds in a safe and
professional manner in order to provide positive educational
experiences.Evaluated by: Immediate Supervisor(s) in collaboration
with Custodian Management and Site Administration.Salary: Salary is
dependant upon previous like experience according to the Collective
Bargaining Agreement.Job Objective: Clean and maintain all
buildings and grounds in a safe and professional manner in order to
provide positive educational experiences.Work Environment: Inside
Edmond Public School District facilities, outdoors during all types
of weather and occasionally on roof tops and ledges. Custodians are
in regular contact with students, the general public and other EPS
personnel.JOB REQUIREMENTS:Education, General Aptitudes and
Experience: High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED),
including basic math. Able to communicate clearly and concisely
both in oral and written form. Able to read and comprehend
procedures and regulations. Able to organize and plan effectively.
Preference is given to those with 1 year custodial, floor care and/
or general maintenance experience. Participate in mandatory
training.Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job
the employee is regularly required to: stand or walk for long
periods of time, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, balance,
climb, see, talk, and hear. While performing the duties of this job
the employee is occasionally required to: reach with hands and arms
fully extended, lift and or move up to 50 lbs, and work at heights
up to 35 feet.Evaluation and Training: This position is subject to
evaluations and mandatory training.The requirements listed above

functions.GENERAL EXPECTATIONSThe ability to work well with others,
be service minded, work responsibly with little or no supervision,

professional appearance.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS1. Cleaning and
Maintenance: Floor care including: vacuum, buff, burnish, strip and
carpet care. Clean restrooms, empty trash. Maintains a clean and
orderly custodial closet and cart. Submits maintenance work
requests to supervisor in a timely manner. Satisfactorily completes
the tasks of each Specialist duty.2. Security: Secures/Opens
facilities as needed. Monitors and reports inappropriate activity
on premises.3. Grounds Maintenance: Efficiently mows, edges, and
weed-eats. Picks up trash daily and empties outside trash
containers as assigned. Removes snow and/ or ice as needed.4.
Supplies and Equipment: Exercises cost control. Properly uses, and
maintains department equipment to highest standards. Reports any
needs for maintenance and repair in a timely manner.5. Energy
Management: Helps maintain and facilitate all aspects of the Energy
Management program within the building, including scheduled shut
downs and prescribed conservation settings.II - SAFETY COMPLIANCE1.
Regulatory: Complies w/OSHA, Federal, State, and Local Policies,
Procedures & Regulations. Attends and participates in mandatory
training programs such as: Asbestos, Blood-borne Pathogens, FERPA
and Right-to-Know; is able to describe these guidelines. Uses
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as needed.2. Departmental:
Complies with District and Departmental Policies and Procedures.
Sustains a safe environment. Workplace related injuries are
documented within policy time frame. Follows instructional and
warning labels on chemical containers. Adheres to proper chemical
mixing ratios and proper use of dispensing systems.III - GENERAL
EXPECTATIONS1. Efficiency: Performs daily walk through inspection
of assigned area. Completes assigned tasks daily in a neat and
timely matter. Completes assignments with little or no supervision.
Readily accepts other duties as assigned.2. Communication:
Interacts with staff, students, parents and community in a positive
and professional manner. Actively listens to input and concerns.
Clearly expresses facts and ideas. Works as a team player;
cooperating with others. Able to give and receive directions. Seeks
assistance and/ or clarification as needed. Follows chain of
command if issues arise.3. Integrity: Behaves in an ethical way
toward all people for all situations. Keeps "confidential"
information confidential. Accepts responsibility to correct
problems and concerns.4. Appearance and Attendance: Has
satisfactory attendance and punctuality. Monitors his/her time and
attendance records for accuracy. Exhibits satisfactory hygiene and
attire. Makes every effort to be at work on inclement weather
days.5. Judgment and Decision Making: Takes immediate and
independent action when necessary. Sets high standards of
performance. Eliminates inefficiencies, redundancies, & obstacles
to productive performance. Looks for ways to improve processes and
service.6. Planning Skills / Task Completion: Effectively
prioritizes work assignments. Is a team player in coordinating
activities with other employees and outside groups.The information
