THE LIFE OF A SEASONAL RECREATION SUPPORT STAFF: Every day will
be a different adventure! This position assists with art classes,
field trips, summer camps, special events, summer concerts and so
much more. One day youll be assisting with a painting class the
next taking a group to the OKC Zoo and another be kayaking at
Arcadia lake. Shift times will also vary day to day depending on
the program/event/camp schedules. Schedules are posted in month to

Under the supervision of the Recreation Program Coordinator, the
Recreation Support Staff is responsible for planning, implementing
and supervising quality activities for camps, programs and special
Scheduled work hours vary, but are usually Monday-Friday, will
be required to work some evenings and weekends and possibly
Plan and lead activities, such as games, programs, arts &
crafts. Demonstrate the ability to relate to people from all social
and economic segments of the community and have the ability to work
with the public in a respectful manner.
Demonstrate the ability to adapt activities as needed due to
changes in weather.
Demonstrate the use of materials and tools to instruct
participants in arts & crafts.
Supervise participants on all field trips.Ensure the safety and
security of all participants, be alert for potential problems and
damaged equipment that could harm participants & handle minor
issues with participants.
Must be at least 16 years old, hold or be able to obtain
certifications in CPR/AED and Standard First Aid, will be required
to attend training workshops.
Must be in good physical condition.
Must be able to think and act quickly when handling emergency
Ability and willingness to assume responsibility for work
Experience in exercising judgment, tact and diplomacy in dealing
with the public, other agencies and personnel.
Understand and follow oral and written instructions and
undertake responsibilities with some initiative and judgment.
Frequent stress from activity levels and nature of job
Strength to lift, push, pull or carry objects weighing 50 pounds
Mobility and flexibility to bend, twist and reach when
