at the location detailed in the job post. Job Description The
Transportation Department Supervisor oversees daily operations of
the Transportation Motor Pool (TMP) at Fort Sill, managing drivers,
safety, training, and vehicle readiness to ensure all missions are
executed safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with Army
regulations and contract requirements. This role includes
supervising personnel, coordinating dispatching and maintenance
activities, maintaining accurate records, conducting driver
evaluations and accident investigations, and working closely with
government officials and customers to support timely mission
completion. The supervisor is responsible for enforcing safety
programs, managing schedules and reports, supporting vehicle
maintenance operations, and ensuring high operational standards
across all TMP functions. Responsibilities Serve as the Supervisor
in charge of Transportation Motor Pool (TMP) Drivers and Driver
Training and Safety, ensuring compliance with the established
Safety Program and applicable regulations. Oversee the safe
day-to-day operations of the TMP at Fort Sill and within the AR 5-9
Area of Responsibility. Ensure the scheduling, dispatching, vehicle
maintenance, and movement of passengers are executed safely and
effectively in accordance with Army regulations, contract
requirements, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Supervise
TMP personnel to ensure all operational, maintenance, and
administrative requirements are completed accurately and on time.
Maintain accurate vehicle, driver qualification, and equipment
records, ensuring timely reporting of all TMP activities and
reports. Coordinate daily with the Government and TMP customers to
ensure safe and on-time completion of all missions. Conduct drivers
check rides and post-accident road tests to verify driver
competency and adherence to safety standards. Inspect TMP vehicles,
loading points, and drop-off locations to ensure compliance with
schedules, safety, and cleanliness requirements. Investigate and
report accidents within 30 minutes, including scene documentation,
vehicle inspection, SF-91 completion, and coordination of
post-accident procedures. Direct vehicle operations as necessary to
meet mission requirements and ensure efficient use of personnel and
equipment. Conduct weekly safety meetings, submitting reports as
required. Maintain and report daily and weekly reimbursable
spreadsheets. Coordinate vehicle maintenance, inspections, work
orders, and parts/supply requisitions to support TMP readiness.
Support TMP Movement Supervisor as needed and ensure close
coordination with all operational staff. Primary work schedule will
be first-shift Monday-Friday. Occasional after hours or weekend
hours may be needed to support TMP training mission. Perform other
duties as assigned to support TMP operations and mission
requirements. Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities
Qualifications Experience: Minimum of 5 years of supervisory
experience in transportation or motor pool operations. Licensing:
Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A with Passenger
Endorsement preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word,
Excel, and PowerPoint. Strong organizational, communication, and
leadership skills with the ability to coordinate multiple
operational activities under tight deadlines. Ability to interface
with various levels of contractor or military personnel and
customers with professionalism, positivity, respect, engagement;
yielding positive results and superior customer experiences.
Working knowledge of Army transportation regulations and safety
programs. Ability to pass Pre-Employment Drug Test and Background
Screening. Ability to receive a favorable TIER-1 investigation and
obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC). Desired
Qualifications: Experience managing or supervising operations under
government or military contracts. Familiarity with GSA vehicle
management, ISO procedures, and AR 5-9 regulations. Proven ability
to develop and implement driver training and safety programs.
Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with government
officials, customers, and contractor personnel. Strong
problem-solving and decision-making skills in fast-paced
operational environments. Track record of positive interfacing with
contractor personnel, management, government officials, peers, and
drivers. Physical Demands: Regularly required to sit, talk, and
listen. Frequently uses hands, arms, and fingers for data entry and
vehicle inspections. Occasionally required to walk, stand, climb,
balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl. Must occasionally lift or
move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include
close and distance vision. Work may involve both office and field
environments, including exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
This position is exempt from overtime under the Fair Labor
Standards Act (FLSA) and may require flexible hours to meet mission
requirements.
