SIGNING BONUS: - $2,000.


Field Services combines Street, Water and Wastewater Line Maintenance division employees into a highly skilled and cross-trained professional workforce. -We maintain 90% of the infrastructure within the City of Edmond which reflects a safe and nonhazardous environment for the community.

The Career Path - Starting out as an Apprentice.

We will train and assist anyone who has a good attitude, wants to do a good job and is willing to learn - Is this you? - Upon hire, -you start as a Field Services Apprentice and are enrolled in the United States Department of Labor Apprenticeship Program. -A new hire is on probation for a full year with evaluations on performance - completed at six months on the job and also at the end of the probation period.

Entry level salary without experience.

Entry level pay for an Apprentice is currently at $16.11 per hour; at six months $17.01; at 12 months $17.90. - Increases are based on progression in training and performance.

Entry level salary with experience:

Applicants that already have a CDL or have experience with heavy equipment and/or duties of this position will be reviewed to come in at a rate higher than the entry level.

Once an Apprentice completes the required skills, and one year of service, the employee will be reclassified as a Technician I, and will be placed in a higher salary grade. -This progression continues with completed training and years of service to advance to the higher levels in the program.

Options Pay: - -Additional pay may be earned by obtaining identified job-related certifications, as approved and coordinated thru the Field Services Superintendent or his designee. -This is flat amount added to your paycheck on a monthly basis.

Paid Time while Training/Uniforms, tools and equipment provided:

* Training consists of classroom curriculum and hands-on applications to develop the skills, knowledge and expertise necessary to complete each level.
* All training is on the job, paid time. -The ability to earn higher pay is directly proportional to progressing through the levels of expertise, demonstrated proficiency and years of experience in the profession.

The Advantages:

* The city provides to us, uniforms, quality tools, and equipment and they assist with the training to obtain your required licenses & certifications.
* We work a regular schedule of 40 hours a week, working 4-10-hour days with a three-day weekend.
* We are crossed trained in Street Maintenance, Water and Wastewater Line Maintenance so that we can respond to any situation at any time.
* We are proud to be certified by the Department of Labor and become Journeyman in this trade.
* Our benefits package includes earned time off, longevity, holidays, health coverage, pension and an employee/family health clinic and Rx at zero cost to the employee.

Qualifications to Apply:

* Must have a High School diploma or GED Equivalent.
* Must hold, or be able to obtain within six months, a valid Class "B" Oklahoma Commercial Driver's License with Tanker and other required endorsements and maintain a driving record acceptable to the City's insurance carrier.
* Must acquire entry level water/wastewater distribution/collection technician certification from ODEQ within 6 months.
* Able to assist crew members with the repair/replacement of infrastructure on streets and utility lines.
* Able to perform labor task for extended periods of time while exposed to all weather conditions.
* Able to read and understand curriculum for training and utilize cause and effect skills when resolving issues in the field.
* Knowledge of the hazards, safety rules and regulations involved.
* Must be able to occasionally lift and move up to 100 pounds.
* Must pass an investigative background, drug screen, audio exam, and a physical examination, with no restrictions, at a designated facility.
