Job Description:
Area Safety ManagerCompany is a leading provider of industrial
services, specializing in steel mill services, metal recovery, slag
handling, and environmental solutions.We are currently seeking an
experienced and dedicated Area Safety Manager to join our team.
This position will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring the
safety of our employees, customers, and subcontractors in a
designated area, while continuously improving our safety culture
and performance.Responsibilities:Develop, implement, and maintain
safety programs, policies, and procedures that comply with federal,
state, and local regulations and conform to industry best
practices.Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify
potential hazards, unsafe conditions, and noncompliance issues, and
take corrective actions accordingly.Train and mentor employees,
supervisors, and managers on safety-related topics, including
hazard identification, risk assessment, incident reporting, and
emergency response.Collaborate with site leadership to establish
safety goals, objectives, and key performance indicators (KPIs) for
the area, and monitor progress towards their
achievement.Investigate incidents and near misses, identify root
causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions to prevent
recurrence.Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of safety
activities, incident reports, training, and certifications,
ensuring timely reporting to regulatory agencies as
required.Promote a strong safety culture through active engagement
and communication with employees, encouraging safe behaviors, and
recognizing achievements in safety performance.Liaise with
regulatory agencies, industry groups, and other stakeholders on
safety-related issues, staying current on relevant regulations,
standards, and best practices.Participate in the development and
execution of emergency response plans, drills, and
exercises.Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall
safety and success of the company.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree
in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field; professional
certifications such as CSP, ASP, or CIH -Minimum of 5 years of
experience in safety management within the industrial services,
construction, or manufacturing industries.Strong knowledge of OSHA,
MSHA, and other applicable federal, state, and local safety
regulations.Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership
skills, with the ability to effectively engage with employees at
all levels of the organization.Proven ability to develop,
implement, and maintain effective safety programs and drive
continuous improvement in safety performance.Strong analytical,
problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to
identify root causes and implement effective corrective
actions.Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and
familiarity with safety management software systems.Ability to
travel as needed to support multiple sites within the designated
