legally protected status. Job Summary: We are looking to hire a PRN
Clinic Nurse to be responsible for nursing care under the
supervision of physicians, physician assistants, and nurse
practitioners. Essential Functions: Obtain, verify and record
health history of patients. Gather pertinent health data through
physical assessments. Room patients. Provide basic patient care as
ordered by providers.Administer medications, which may include
subcutaneous or intramuscularinjections, and treatments as directed
by physicians or physician assistants. Assist providers in
performing exams, procedures and treatments. Adhere to infection
control and safety guidelines to include cleaning exam roomsbetween
patients, sterilizing equipment and supplies, using germicides,
sterilizerand autoclave. Accurately and completely document
assessments, interventions, patient/familyresponses, medications
dispensed/prescribed and test results in medical record. Observe
patients and report adverse reactions to medication or treatment
tomedical personnel in charge. May be required to perform
phlebotomy duties. Educate and instruct patients about
self-administered medications. Promote wellness by providing
patient education materials, communicatingphysician
advice/instructions. Order, sort and store supplies and restock
exam rooms. Answer telephone calls and messages from patients to
include relayinginstructions to patients or family member and
provide pertinent information. Accurately relay prescription
information to pharmacies. Fulfill clerical responsibilities as
assigned which may include sending or receivingpatient medical
records; obtaining lab, x-ray, hospital notes, referral
information,etc.; completing forms for pre-certifications and/or
pre-authorization formedication and/or procedures. Ensure patient
confidentiality and follow HIPAA guidelines. Check and resolve
assigned tasks in EMR program. Assist co-workers as needed.
Responsible for neatness of work area to include stocking and
cleaning. Be productive when faced with any down time during work
hours. Maintain emotional control and diplomacy at all times.
Maintain open and positive lines of communication. Adhere to
company policies and procedures. Demonstrate sensible and efficient
use of equipment and supplies by limitingwaste, spoilage or damage.
Performance Requirements: Knowledge: Knowledge of medical
terminology, anatomy and physiology. Familiarity with health care
systems, regulations, policies and functions. Understanding
ofdocumentation standards. Knowledge of equipment, supplies and
materials needed for medical treatment. Understanding of basic
laboratory procedures including preparation andscreening. Knowledge
of infectious disease management and control and safety standards.
Skills: Skill in reading and following written and oral medical
orders. Skill in initiating appropriate emergency procedures. Skill
in handling a number of tasks simultaneously. Skill in computers.
Type at least 40 WPM. Abilities: Ability to use manual dexterity to
perform medical treatments. Ability to establish and maintain
effective working relationships with coworkersand diverse patient
populations. Ability to perform mathematical calculations for drug
dosages. Qualifications: Current LPN or RN license. AllScripts EMR
experience preferred. Clinic experience preferred. Physical
Requirements: Ability to work effectively in a fast paced
environment. Physical ability to sit, perform data entry and view
computer screen for long periods at a time. Daily standing,
walking, bending, and maneuvering. May require lifting up to 50
pounds or more to transfer and/or turn patient with and without
assistive devices. Environmental Conditions: Occasional exposure to
communicable diseases and biohazards. This is a safety sensitive
position. Travel Requirements: Travel may be required. Scheduled
