Job Summary The Registered Nurse (RN) will employ the nursing process—assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation—to deliver personalized nursing care to residents. This role involves collaboration with residents, their families, and interdisciplinary colleagues, including healthcare providers, to plan, execute, and assess care. The RN will demonstrate proficiency and operate within the full scope of nursing knowledge, adhering to age and population-specific standards relevant to their clinical environment. Responsibilities include caring for residents across all stages of preventive care, health maintenance, diagnosis, and treatment. The RN may also take on the role of charge nurse, delegating appropriate tasks to both licensed and unlicensed assistive personnel, ensuring that these tasks align with job descriptions, skills, resident care needs, and the competencies of the delegates. Adequate support will be provided to ensure safe and reliable resident care and to address any concerns regarding care and services. The RN will function within the guidelines and standards of nursing practice as defined by the Nurse Practice Act and Administrative Rules in their state of practice and licensure. Professional nursing practice is grounded in the Scope and Standards of Practice and the Code of Ethics for Nurses with Interpretive Statements as established by the American Nurses Association. Qualifications A graduate from a nationally accredited nursing program is preferred, including institutions recognized by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), and National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA). A Bachelor’s Degree in nursing is preferred. The candidate must hold an unencumbered RN license from the State Board of Nursing in the state where they will practice, or possess multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state. It is essential to obtain and maintain the required department-specific competencies and certifications.
