eligibility requirements for CT Certification (ARRT) and be
achieved within 12 months of hire date. Certifications: AHA BLS
Must-Have: - Graduate of a CAAHEP accredited educational program
with emphasis in a primary cardiovascular specialty, or - Graduate
of a JRCERT accredited educational program with emphasis in a
radiologic technology specialty. Description: Under immediate to
general supervision and direction of a mentor/preceptor, this
entry-level position works to achieve the initial competencies
required to deliver specialized cardiovascular and/or radiologic
technology services to adult and/or pediatric patient populations.
The purpose of this role is to aid medical staff in the diagnosis,
care, treatment, and surveillance of simple to complex conditions,
defects, and/or diseases. Utilizing entry-level knowledge,
abilities, and skills, the technologist provides safe,
high-quality, efficient, and cost-effective patient-centric care
and support services under routine or emergent conditions in a
variety of care settings. This includes acute inpatient facilities,
outpatient physician practices, diagnostic/urgent care centers, and
remote statewide outreach clinics. The technologist prepares
patients for procedures and correlates clinical history with
procedures ordered by physicians to be performed. They communicate
and collaborate with patients, families, and other members of the
multidisciplinary care team to identify and implement the actions
necessary to achieve the clinical outcomes, operational goals, and
service expectations desired. Utilizing a variety of highly
specialized cardiovascular and/or radiologic equipment and
techniques, the technologist performs a diverse range of
diagnostic, interventional, and/or surgical procedures in
accordance with established scope of practice guidelines. They
conduct post-procedure reviews to confirm that all required
elements are completed, documented, and that technical quality is
consistent with established department protocols and/or applicable
accreditation standards. The technologist transfers images and data
to the appropriate archival systems and enters technical
data/findings to prepare the study for reporting by a physician.
They perform operator-level quality control checks, cleaning,
high-level disinfecting, and other user maintenance per
manufacturer instructions for use and other regulatory guidelines.
Participation in continuing education, professional development,
and research activities is expected to maintain competencies and
promote continuous improvements in care and treatments. Required
skills include the ability to apply principles of cardiovascular
and/or radiologic technology, medical imaging, medical terminology,
and positioning of patients. The technologist must work as part of
a team, follow instructions, and consistently report to work as
scheduled. Sensitivity to patients' physical and psychological
needs is essential. Maintaining accurate records and working
accurately with names, numbers, and codes is required. The ability
to draw conclusions, make appropriate recommendations, and exercise
discretion in handling confidential information is important.
Multi-tasking and remaining calm in stressful situations are
essential skills. The individual must possess the ability to
understand various operations, policies, and procedures. Effective
communication and the ability to meet the needs of staff, patients,
and their families in a professional and compassionate manner are
crucial. A high level of initiative, effort, and commitment towards
completing assignments efficiently is expected. The ability to work
with minimum supervision and demonstrate attention to detail is
necessary. Core knowledge and understanding of normal and abnormal
anatomy and physiology, as well as cardiovascular and/or radiologic
technologies and terminology related to the primary specialty, are
needed. Skills in applying core-level primary specialty theory,
practices, and techniques to perform, post-process, analyze, and
annotate study data or procedure documentation with general
