Job Description:
#AlliedJoin our dynamic healthcare team in Tulsa, OK, where you
will operate radiology equipment to produce radiographic images of
the body for diagnostic routine purposes. This role involves
positioning radiologic equipment and adjusting controls to set
exposure time and distance according to the specifications of each
examination. Ensure patient care and safety by taking x-rays
following established radiologic requirements and regulations.Job
Responsibilities* Retrieve radiologic orders and input related data
into electronic medical records.* Prepare patients for radiologic
procedures and escort them to the dressing and x-ray rooms.*
Provide verbal and/or written instructions and assist patients in
positioning body parts to be radiographed.* Explain procedures to
patients to reduce anxieties and obtain cooperation.* Position
patients on examining tables and adjust positioning devices for
optimum views as requested by physicians.* Operate specialized
equipment according to protocols under limited physician
supervision.* Provide patient care across a broad range of
healthcare needs, including ER, fluoroscopy, surgery, and various
clinics and centers.* Move radiograph equipment into specified
positions and adjust controls to set graphic exposure factors.*
Practice radiation protection techniques to minimize radiation
exposure to patients and staff.* Obtain acceptable radiologic
images using CR/DR techniques and protocols.* Ensure the operation
of radiology equipment by completing preventative maintenance and
troubleshooting malfunctions.* Report equipment malfunctions to
appropriate personnel.* Maintain examination rooms and stock
necessary medical and radiologic supplies.* Protect patients and
employees by adhering to infection control policies and protocols.*
Support department and hospital goals through personal improvements
and educational activities.* Maintain professional standards in
conjunction with practice standards recommended by societies such
as ARRT and ASRT.* Assist with monitoring the patient's level of
moderate sedation in inpatient settings.* Initiate additional
patient comfort measures or alternatives for sedation as
appropriate.* Ensure informed consent has been obtained before
procedures and address any patient questions or concerns.* Actively
participate in the Universal Protocol for all invasive procedures.*
Perform appropriate patient care in a sterile environment under the
guidance of a physician or Radiology Assistant.* Exercise
independent judgment in planning operations and making minor
decisions in a complex technical or professional field.* Work
directly with patients, customers, and other healthcare
professionals and staff, both face-to-face and via
telephone.Required Skills & Experience* Zero (0) to six (6) months
of related experience.* Working knowledge of digital radiography
(DR) and/or computerized radiography (CR) equipment, techniques,
and protocols.* Excellent customer service and communication
skills.* Ability to work as a team member and independently.*
Positive attitude, self-motivation, and dependability.* Ability to
perform work accurately and adapt to changing conditions and
responsibilities.* Demonstrate ethical and professional behaviors
at all times.* Basic computer skills required.* Capable of wearing
lead aprons for extended periods.Required Education* Completion of
an accredited Radiologic Technology Program.Required Certification
& Licensure* Registration from the American Registry of Radiologic
Technologists in Radiology (ARRT-R).* BLS Certification.Job Type:
