OSUF TRUE NORTH: We raise, invest and distribute philanthropic support for OSU. OSUF PRODUCT SCOPE: We provide private support to enhance the University's ability to fulfill its land-grant mission. OKLAHOMA STATE UNIVERSITY FOUNDATION INVESTMENT OFFICE: The Oklahoma State University Foundation ("OSUF") is the private fundraising organization for Oklahoma State University. The OSUF Investment Office, located in Edmond, Oklahoma, is primarily responsible for managing the endowment and other financial resources of OSUF. MULTILATERAL ENDOWMENT MANAGEMENT COMPANY: OSUF recently authorized the formation of Multilateral Endowment Management Company ("MEMCO"), a not-for-profit investment management company dedicated solely to providing investment advisory services to the OSU Foundation, affiliated non-profits, and non-affiliated charitable endowments and foundations. The entire OSUF Investment Office will become employees of MEMCO at launch, which is anticipated in the upcoming months. The total investments currently managed are about $1 billion and MEMCO anticipates future growth as other charitable organizations become supported organizations. The Associate Director of Investment Operations may be hired initially as an OSUF employee, but will then transition with the rest of the OSUF Investment Office to MEMCO once launched. KEY AREAS OF FOCUS: Under the primary supervision of the Director of Operational Due Diligence, the Associate Director of Investment Operations will be an integral member of a small investment team. The position will be primarily responsible for supporting the middle- and back-office functions for the OSUF Investment Office/MEMCO and will also support the operational due diligence process as needed. Responsibilities include: Performance Reporting, Investment Transactions, and Reconciliations - 55% --- Ensure investment transactions and cash movements (e.g. subscriptions, redemptions, capital calls, distributions) are handled and recorded in an accurate and timely manner. --- Record and reconcile investment transactions using various spreadsheets and software tools (e.g. Backstop, Caissa, and others) to ensure accurate and timely performance reporting. --- Perform monthly reconciliations for various investments. --- Assist in the development of monthly and quarterly performance reports and ad hoc requests for performance information for clients. --- Assist in the completion of quarterly and annual surveys about the structure and performance of the investments of clients. --- Work closely with client custodian's and other service providers. Coordinate and fulfill client requests for information related to investment transactions and reporting. Accounting, Audit, and Tax Support - 20% --- Track MEMCO budget and expenses and provide information to third-party accounting firm. --- Assist with interim and year-end requests associated with accounting, legal, tax, and external auditors for clients. --- Help serve as a liaison regarding operational matters between investment managers and clients. Operational Due Diligence of Existing and Prospective Investment Managers - 15% --- Assist with ongoing monitoring of existing investment managers by reviewing, analyzing, and tracking financial statements, Form ADVs, valuation policies, marketing materials, due diligence questionnaires, and other documents. --- Gather and assist in the review of operational documents and processes for prospective investment managers, including legal formation and offering documents, DDQs, compliance, IT, and other internal control policies, pitch books, and other relevant documents. Other Activities - 10% --- Prepare and review materials for quarterly Board of Director meetings and other meetings as necessary. --- Research and engage in discussions about the regulatory environment and its impact on both our individual investment managers and our overall asset allocation. --- Assist with providing direction to Investment Analysts and Investment Interns regarding the operational due diligence and back-office functions. --- Other projects and duties as assigned. JOB COMPETENCIES AND EXPERIENCE: Education, Certifications, and Experience Required: --- A Bachelor's degree with a strong academic record in any discipline is required. --- A minimum of two years in accounting, finance, or related experience with an audit firm, investment management firm, financial institution, or allocator (e.g. endowment, foundation, pension, family office, fund of funds, or investment consultant). Preferred: --- A degree in finance, accounting, or business-related field and/or professional certification (e.g. CPA, CAIA, CFA, FRM) is strongly preferred. --- Two years or more of accounting or business experience relevant to investment middle- and/or back-office functions is preferred. --- Basic knowledge of alternative investment strategies, specifically hedge funds and private equity funds is preferred. Job Competencies --- Must possess sound analytical capabilities with strong written and verbal communication skills. --- Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities. --- Strong attention to detail and a willingness to ask questions of team members and investment managers. --- Ability to work collaboratively with others within MEMCO and across various client departments. --- Must demonstrate dependability by meeting deadlines and a desire to continue expanding their and the team's institutional knowledge. --- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and intermediate experience with other Microsoft Office products. --- High ethical and professional standards and must adhere to strict confidentiality standards. --- Adaptability and flexibility are essential. --- Experience utilizing the following systems is a plus: Caissa, Backstop, PitchBook, or similar software. --- Willingness and ability to travel on rare occasion as needed. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must use a computer terminal and view a computer screen for extended periods of time. Must talk in person or by phone (frequently and sometimes for extended periods) to people both internally and externally. Must constantly use visual acuity to check printed and designed materials of various types. Must be able to navigate within MEMCO's offices. Typical office working conditions. Must be able to travel globally if needed.
