Job Description:

System One is in search of a Director of Accounting for an established and growing Tulsa-based healthcare organization. The Director of Accounting will oversee all aspects of financial accounting, reporting, and compliance for the organization. This individual will ensure accurate financial records, support strategic planning, and maintain internal controls in accordance with healthcare regulations and GAAP. The ideal candidate has strong leadership abilities, extensive healthcare accounting experience, and a proven track record of managing teams in fast-paced environments. Key Responsibilities Lead the accounting department in day-to-day operations, including general ledger, AP/AR, payroll, fixed assets, and revenue recognition. Oversee monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close processes and prepare accurate financial statements in compliance with GAAP. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and healthcare industry-specific regulations (e.g., Medicare/Medicaid reimbursement, cost reporting). Coordinate audits and liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory agencies. Develop and maintain internal controls and policies to safeguard company assets and ensure financial integrity. Collaborate with FP&A and leadership to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning initiatives. Provide guidance, mentorship, and performance management to accounting staff. Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices in financial operations. Qualifications Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Masters preferred). CPA certification required. Minimum of 7-10 years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role. Prior experience in the healthcare industry strongly preferred (hospital, clinic, or healthcare system). Deep knowledge of GAAP, healthcare compliance standards, and cost accounting principles. Proficiency with accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, Workday, Oracle, or similar). Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Ref: #208-Eng TulsaRequired
