Find your future with us. The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) organization is seeking a First Line Air Vehicle Engineering Manager - Bombers Program to join the team in Oklahoma City, OK. A successful candidate will have a background in Structural Analysis, Material Review Board (MRB), and/or Design, lead a Product Team responsible for the design, development, acquisition, and support of critical aircraft Structures/Payloads on the B-52 program. This role will effectively lead 16 or more direct reports in the Air Vehicle Capability, and collaborating with a diverse group of individuals from other product/technology teams, production operations, suppliers, and senior management. This role will be directly accountable to the B-52 senior managers of the cost, schedule and technical performance. Position Responsibilities: Key responsibility is to work closely with other engineering managers and program managers to integrate customer requirements for a total design solution. Manage cost, schedule, technical performance and staffing of the team. --- Team will be responsible for developing proposals for new business opportunities that are cost competitive in the industry and provide an effective use of resources. Manages employees performing engineering and technical activities in the area of Mechanical & Structural Engineering. Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals. A cquires resources for projects and processes, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements. Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports. Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes. Development and welfare of the employees within the organization. This position requires an active (or ability to obtain) U.S. Security Clearance, for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. 3 years of experience working with and/or interpreting engineering data or engineering drawings. E xperience in managing or leading an engineering team. Experience working in a cross functional environment with all levels of the business from individual contributors to executive leadership. Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): 1 year of experience providing product definitions and technical support to other groups, suppliers and external customers throughout the product life cycle. Willingness to travel 10% of time. Bachelor's Degree or higher in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Civil Engineering. Experience integrating large aircraft systems and aircraft modification programs. Experience with Finite Element Modeling. 3 years of experience in aircraft structural design or analysis engineering. 1 year of e xperience working on MRB (Materials Review Board) activities related to aircraft structures. Experience leading a team and/or large project in an Integrated Product Team (IPT) Environment. Experience planning projects from the proposal phase through the design and build phases. Experience with Earned Value Management System (EVMS). Negotiation skills and work well with others within own group and among other groups to reach win-win situations. Background in managing the technical and schedule progress of the group. Relocation: This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.
