Job Description:

The Sr. Director, Sales Training is responsible for leading and managing the Directors of Payments and Payroll training in a multifaceted leadership function and will report to the SVP of Sales Operations. The Sr. Director of Training will be responsible for developing and building out a refreshed concurrent training strategy for the Heartland Sales organization. This leader will also be managing the Heartland Sales Training teams.--The ideal candidate is passionate about maximizing and developing sales leaders effectiveness, will lead with a collaborative leadership style and work with an entrepreneurial mindset. The Sr. Director, Sales Training, will also be instrumental in ensuring sales training initiatives and strategies are aligned with business priorities. The ideal candidate will also have keen business acumen, understand the sales life cycle, advanced knowledge of technical training elements and deliver materials that provide effective, engaging and results-driven training.Job Details:--What will you be doing?Responsible for the oversight and development of all educational opportunities for Sales, Sales Operations and Product trainingUses knowledge of Heartland's Sales process and methodologies to design, develop and implement selling-focused learning solutions aligned with business priorities and initiatives to ensure effective delivery and relevance of contentKey influencer and subject matter expert who will empower direct reports engagement and connection pre-or post-training sessionsStrong knowledge of the business, including internal and external trends, and keeps up to date with payments & payroll industry--Establish success measures/ KPIs to continuously monitor and improve training performance and outcomes; ensures reporting of progress for all initiatives/training deliveryConducts ongoing needs assessment by meeting with senior leaders across the business to identify and address knowledge gapsProvides coaching and consulting on curriculum/training design and development to create impactfully, tailored content, blended-training and non-training deliverables that will achieve the goals of the Sales organizationPassionate about the overall training experience and facilitating content to large groupsCollaborate across the company to identify, propose, and initiate changes leading to increased performancePassion for providing the best learning experienceExperience delivering formal or informal learning programs using single-channel or blended approaches, including virtual and classroom-based instructor-led training, peer-to-peer learning, and potential eLearningPromote team collaboration through collaborative leadershipWhat are the requirements?10+ years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, M.Ed, MBA)--12+ years' direct experience in sales or organizational development/talent management with progressive responsibility within a Fortune 1000 or 500 sized companiesAt least five years' experience leading and building teamsExperience leading a client-facing team and solution selling in the payments sector; managing and coaching sales and client-facing teams, working closely with clients and driving revenue targets, and/or working with sales organization(s) to develop educational training solutions to develop sales competencies is preferredStrong people management, coaching/motivation and leadership background is preferredPassionate about content creation and delivery to large groupsKnowledge of selling tools (e.g. CRM, SalesForce etc), process (e.g. account planning) and skills (e.g. storytelling/communication, customer development, opportunity development, and technical fundamentals)Strong communication (written and verbal) and consulting skillsAbility to influence at all levels in the organization, including executive leadership--Ability to work well in ambiguity and agile environmentsExperience quantifying ROI for key initiativesDeep knowledge of the payments business and regulatory landscape is preferredStrong strategic agility and ability to see the long term view and all the moving pieces needed to accomplish goalsSense of entrepreneurial spirit with a willingness to try new things in order to meet objectivesCommitted to protecting and extending Heartland's culture and a desire to add business value in all projectsAbility to travel as needed
